Who Are We?

Strother Gaines – Producing Artistic Director & Founder
Strother is the producing artistic director and founder of TBD Immersive. He is a business and personal coach for entrepreneurs and small businesses, as well as a public speaker and corporate facilitator via his private practice “But I’m a Unicorn, Dammit!”. As an artist and entrepreneur, he is passionately committed to the ideals of authenticity, connection and storytelling as well as helping as many people as possible own up to the fact that they’re a unique fu&%ing snowflake. He looks pretty good in purple.

Jenny Splitter – Devising Playwright & Producing Story Director
Jenny is a writer, storyteller and TBD Immersive’s Story Director. Her writing appears in Forbes, The Washington Post, Slate, New York Magazine, Salon and others, and her past playwriting credits include Capital Fringe productions H Street Housewives and The Dish. She performs her own true, occasionally embarrassing stories about herself on stage, most often with DC’s Story District, for audiences at the 9:30 Club, the National Gallery of Art and the Birchmere. She also appears in the documentary Science Moms, and frequently gives talks on science communication, storytelling and her very favorite topic: food. In her spare time, she carves ice sculptures and grows heirloom wheat. Just kidding, she has two kids.

Dana Malone Heiser – Producing Improvisation Director.
Dana is a nonprofit do-gooder, professional coach and TBD Immersive’s Improvisation Director. She has been enthusiastically learning, performing and/or teaching improv since 2011. Recognized for her “versatile wackiness” by the Washington Post, Dana has performed in a variety of national festivals including Baltimore Improv Festival, Chicago Improv Festival, Del Close Marathon, District Improv Festival, TEDx MidAtlantic conference and Women in Comedy Festival. Dana also has more than a decade of nonprofit experience in development and event planning, having worked with executive directors, board members and industry leaders. She loves using improv techniques to enhance creativity and collaboration… and she can’t say no to karaoke.
